What happens if Hermes can't deliver your parcel?
If we are unable to deliver your Parcel to the Address, we will make two further attempts to deliver it (the “Further Attempts”). If we're still unable to deliver your Parcel, we will return it to the sender's address provided by you with the Parcel.
Your courier will make three attempts to deliver your parcel. If their delivery attempt was unsuccessful the courier will leave a card which will tell you when they're making their next delivery attempt, and should also reference an 8-digit card number which you can use to track your parcel.

If you want to amend something on your order and you haven't handed your parcel over to us, the easiest thing to do is cancel your order before 10pm on the day of booking, then rebook it with the new details. The refund will be back in your account in 3 to 5 working days.

Undelivered packages from RoyalMail and Hermes are sold on to to third-party companies who will often list the unopened items on eBay or other bidding sites. Experts warn that this could cause your personal details - such as your name and address - to be exposed to fraudsters, putting you at risk of identity theft.
After three unsuccessful delivery attempts, your parcel will be marked as Return to Sender and you'll be reimbursed as soon as your order arrives back at our logistics centre.

If your parcel is being delivered by your local courier you won't be able to collect it from your local ParcelShop or delivery depot, but your courier will make three attempts to deliver your parcel.
What do couriers do with undelivered packages? Generally, nonmailable packages are returned to the sender. But, if for any reason the sender will not or cannot receive it, the courier company will hold onto a parcel for a while so that the owner can file a claim. However, they cannot wait indefinitely.
What happens to packages that Cannot be delivered?
If items can't be delivered or returned, the Postal Service donates, recycles, discards, or auctions them off. Auctions of unclaimed items are popular with the reseller community, although it's a risk-reward proposition.
